They're newlyweds...and they're having a baby in about 4 months. They need a house STAT! These first time home buyers only have a budget of $130,000. Their wish list is as follows:
- 4 bedrooms
- 2.5 baths
- Bonus room
- Large fenced backyard
- Gourmet kitchen
- Walk-in closets
- A mortgage of $1,200 or less
So off they go with a super-human realtor and a saucy narrator. They snub each property and fight among themselves. They argue the pros and cons, and weigh the number of bathrooms against the number of walk-in closets. Every house they tour is worse than the last, and finally, much to their chagrin, they settle on the 2 bedroom/1 bath bungalow on a noisy street.
Then they wait anxiously at a sketchy restaurant while their realtor works a deal. After much nail biting, they're pronounced the new owners and celebrate with a tearful hug. 6 months later they've transformed the place into something fit for Better Homes & Gardens Kitchen + Bath Makeovers.

On what planet does this happen? Once I find out, I'm packing my bags and heading out. I mean...is it possible to make all your dreams come true in the span of 6 months and come out smelling like a rose with a mortgage less than your monthly rent payment? Obviously so...it happens every 30 minutes on HGTV.
The new homeowners have successfully renovated the dump into their dream home, decorated the nursery, welcomed their new baby, and rescued a beautiful puppy from certain death at the shelter. And, as a bonus, the baby and the dog are already potty-trained. These people are miracle workers...they DESERVE their 30 minutes of fame.
